Mid-April

A random assortment of activities made up the second half of April.

Breakfast in bed for Momma's birthday.  Awesome.

Nice.

Dexter continues to work toward his barista career.

Artichoke season.  The kid's favorite.

Internet pals become in-real-life pals, when Merlin Mann visits Todd at ILM.

Sometimes dinner doesn't go so well.  "I...

"...don't like..."

"...chicken!!!!!"

Hammock happiness.

18 hours with Coco.  Awesome.

Attitude...

...and more attitude.

More Rain More Weekend

El Nino is upon us.  Weekends are mellow.

 Morning reading.

Coffee.  Duh.

Lots of time to observe the squirrel out the window enjoying eating the little seed pods.

Dexter Around The House

Here's Dex just being Dex.

 Assisting Daddy with coffee.

Stir it.

Smash it!

In Mommy and Daddy's bed.

Aeropress

Daddy's latest way to make coffee involves using the Aeropress to make the perfect cup.  It involves a pushing down a plunger and ends with a satisfying pop.  A family that Aeropresses together, stays together.

Fun for the whole family.

Fall Weekend

On this fall weekend, we did some stuff...

Nothing is more fun than sitting in a chair on it's way upstairs to Dexter's room.  Stair chair.

Coffee now involves weighing.

Dexter's birthday prep involves testing out our mini ball pit.

Balls are fun, but so is the container.

Time for apple picking...

...and pigs at Chileno Valley Ranch.

Ranch girl.

Chickens!

Future chicken whisperer.

Maya in the apple orchard.

Maya has apples on the brain.

The apples were easy to pick because they came from dwarf trees.

Delicious weekend.

Barista In Training

Maya demonstrates the proper way to grind coffee beans for a single cup of drip coffee:

First measure out 3 heaping scoops of beans.

Pour the beans into the grinder.

Adjust the time to approximately 20 seconds.

Press start.

Watch beans come out of the grinder.

Smell that coffee.

M & M & M

Sam and Jess came up North with the kiddies for another quick visit. Needless to say, the three M's enjoyed themselves immensely.

Maddie, Maya, and Max...part of an elite club.

If you are cool enough (and if your name starts with M), you might be allowed to join.

Membership benefits include making delicious coffee for the grown-ups, (Maya teaches Maddie based on her months of experience).

Maya Gets Useful

Daddy has been working hard to get our little lady trained to make him coffee on the weekends. So far, so good...

After grinding the coffee and placing it in the filter, add water and stir to saturate all coffee beans.

Perfect.
