Bowling With Billy

Our Saturday was packed with excitement. After an egg hunt and a birthday party it was time for some bowling in the Presidio with our friend, Billy.

Bowling shoes for 3 year-olds.

Getting ready for some serious bowling including high stakes bets.

Maya loved bowling with her good friend, Billy. It helped that they put up guards to prevent gutter balls on her turn.

Billy lost to us in one round of bowling, so he had to do ten push-ups with Maya on his back.

We lost the second round which required us to kiss according to Billy's specifications.

Requisite giggling afterward. Yay bowling!

Mathilde's B-day

After the egg hunt craziness at the park, we headed over to a wonderful 4th birthday party for Mathilde. The party included a fairy who did magic and painted faces and a much more rewarding egg hunt.

The fairy supervises the egg hunt.

The birthday girl gets her face painted as Maya looks on.

Maya lets the fairy know that she wants an Easter egg and a rainbow painted on her face.

Maya looks at the fairy's lovely paint job.

"I look good...yes?"

Happy Birthday Mathilde!

Easter Egg Hunt / Crazy Mob Grabbing Eggs

This year we attended our neighborhood's egg hunt in the park on the Saturday before Easter. This SEEMED like a good idea as all the families gathered outside the gates of the park where hundreds of eggs were scattered. In actuality, the event was more about people squeezing through the gate and feverishly hoarding eggs. The first kids (and their over-zealous parents) grabbed every egg in sight leaving those coming through the gate later with little to show for their efforts. Maya did manage to find two eggs. Her friend Riley found one. On a happy note, the Easter Bunny was there and she still had a great time.

Crowds of kids and parents getting ready to destroy each other in search of eggs.
Maya (in the green sweater) is through the gate.
Run, Maya, run, before more parents grab dozens of eggs for their toddlers (I'm not bitter, really).
Happy girl, eggs or not.
"Peace!" Actually, this is Maya gloriously proclaiming that she's found two eggs.
Maya loved that she got to meet the Easter bunny, but she did ask afterward if it was the real Easter bunny or just a man in a suit. Maya, why do you always ask the tough questions?
