20 Years

Well, we are in the midst of insanity with trying to get our house finished and both kids getting out of school. We weren't able to do a major something to celebrate 20 years of marriage! What! Anyhow, we decided to get away for two nights to a delightful little spot in Albuquerque called Los Poblanos. It was a nice moment away.

Dexter Graduates from Elementary School

Well, it's time for new chapters and Dexter is very excited to be going to Maya's school next year. However, it will be very sad to say goodbye to his wonderful elementary school. The school has a lovely ceremony for these kids to celebrate.

Maya Makes the Yearbook Cover

Maya was commissioned to do the artwork for the cover of the yearbook for this year. Her watercolor is the cover art.

Dexter Goes to the Sixth Grade Dance

One of the benefits of being the oldest at your elementary school is that you get to have a dance just for you at the end of the year.

Maya Goes To Prom

Maya is happy on her big night out with her fairly recent beau, Asha.

End of School Celebrations

End of school celebrations are particularly poignant as Dexter finishes his last year at his elementary school.

6th graders get to make full sized pictures of their favorite characters from Greek mythology.

6th graders also get to play in a band for music. Dexter learned how to play the clarinet and they performed a rousing Star Wars theme for the crowd.

Later that week was field day and sixth graders get to monopolize the dunk tank.

Maya Goes to State

SF Prep made it to State this year and the girls were underdogs, but they came so close to going to the final round.

The match went late into the evening. They would have won, but they ran down the clock and the game was stopped when the another deciding match went to the other team.

A Third Car

Yep. We did it. We purchased a 2017 Toyota Forerunner to be the third car for the family. It's got 4WD, a lot of hauling space, and will make life easier to manage for everyone.

Maya had to learn how to do crazy things like using a key to turn a car and how to pump gas. 

Excited to learn how to drive the big huge new car, but it's a little challenging.
