2 Months, Coming Home

Road trips are a lot of fun. Our exciting adventure back home to San Francisco from LA on the 5 freeway included all sorts of exciting stops like this one in the parking lot of Starbucks. The view was amazing -- you could see all the way to Quizno's.

2 Months, Beth and Jenny's Wedding

On September 29th, we had the privilege of attending the wedding of Beth Kochendorfer and Jenny Green. We've known Beth since our Northwestern University days and we were so excited to witness the vows between these two wonderful women. The ceremony was held on the beach across from The Sunset restaurant in Malibu. Maya had fun attending her third wedding.

2 Months, Hanging out in Westlake Village

Although Beth and Jenny's wedding was to take place on the beach in Malibu, we stayed in Westlake Village along with the wedding party.

Jess and Sam (unfortunately not pictured) made a quick visit to say hi.

Maya was very happy to see them.

2 Months, Maya's First Rest Area

Maya and the gang hit the road, heading down to Malibu for Beth and Jenny's wedding. Along the way, got to enjoy a great American pastime - hanging out at a Rest Area!

Don't let these photos fool you. Maya was very excited about this experience, her first Rest Area adventure.

2 Months, Mothers' Group

While Todd was away in Montreal, Kearsley and Maya went to their weekly mother's group gathering. Susan took these pictures of the lovely ladies.

Todd Goes To Montreal

At the end of September, Todd spent a few days in Montreal, as a featured speaker at the Adapt Conference, a convention for digital artists that took place at the Montreal Hyatt. Attendees came from all over the world to see presentations and demonstrations from artists from various professionals from the industry.

Todd's presentation on "Transformers" was extremely popular, and well-attended. Todd told stories about making the film at ILM, talked about all of the technical and creative challenges that the movie presented, and the audience really seemed to enjoy it.

Shots from our iChat sessions.

Every single night (and sometimes during the day), Todd, Kearsley and Maya would keep in touch via videoconference, using iChat on our Macs.

Todd, trying to look like he knows what he's talking about, giving a speech about ILM's work on "Transformers."

Here's Todd taking questions after the hour and a half presentation.

After the presentation, many people came up to the podium with questions... and for autographs. Stop laughing.

"Concentration, Parts I and II" videos

Here are two videos from back in September, 2007, when Maya was just over two months old. Make sure you watch them both. What a difference a day makes.

Part I...

...and now, Part II!

2 Months, Seeing Things

Maya has also been keen on hanging objects, too. She's been focusing on them very well, and is even starting to bat at them. Way to go, Maya!

"What is it now, Dad?"

"Cheeeeese!"

Maya has been having a lot of fun on her little play mat.

She's watching the hanging mutant duckie very, very carefully.

Pre-sneeze.
