On an unseasonably warm January weekend, we decided to indulge in a little culture and sun at the Palace of Fine Arts. First, we watched a few dance troops audition for the Ethnic Dance Festival in the indoor auditorium. The auditorium was only partially full so Maya had fun watching the dancers, listening to the cool music, and pushing several seats.
After that, we took walk around the pond and had a picnic. For those unfamiliar, the Palace of Fine Arts buildings are the last remaining structures from the World's Fair held in San Francisco in 1915. Maya loved the aggressive and somewhat evil seagulls, the ducks and swans, and the fountain.
