"Santa Cruz" video

A few moments of the trip in motion...

Santa Cruz Coastal Fun

A little bit of coastal exploration before the trip home.

Rock formations at the beach.

A nice but cool day at the beach.

Ma and pa.

Father and son.

Walking along the coastal trail.

Cool wave action.

A bit too excited.

Perching at the cliffside.

Unquiet contemplation of the ocean.

Train Time

On our second day we checked out the Roaring Camp railroad which took us on a fun ride through the redwoods.

This is the engine for our exciting adventure.

Ready for low-speed train excitement.

Let's call this series, "Kids Hide in Trees."

Where's Dexter?

Maya fit's nicely in here.

One kid...

...two kids.

Trees!

More trees.

Parents.

After hanging out in some redwoods, the train ride continues.

Back down the mountain we go.

At the end of the ride, the train has to eject a serious amount of steam or, as we called it, a train fart!

Equal opportunity cutouts.

Equal opportunity cutouts.

Post train, we enjoyed more redwoods in Henry Cowell Redwood State Park next to the railroad.

On the way home, we made a quick stop at the winery right near our cottage.  We tasted wine, the kids ate lots of crackers.

Escape to Santa Cruz

Just for fun, we took a little two night vacation to Santa Cruz.

Brunch upon arrival complete with a Bloody Mary.  Yes, please.

On the boardwalk.

Happiness on the ground...

...and up high.

We stayed in a cute little cottage in the woods which came with our own dog to play with.
