Breakfast, Lounging, and The Oscars

Hang out after our trip and getting festive for the Oscars.

 Someone is excited about breakfast.

Just chillin...

...eating some sour grass (aka clover stems).

Oscar party was at Jake's this year since it happened the day after our return from Montana. Todd went as a young Hollywood producer.

Dexter is in fancies.

Faux fur is so fabulous.

In an Oscar full of unexpected wins, Todd still came out the winner.  Maya was very upset that she didn't emerge as the biggest loser (very sad when you lose at losing).

Last Hurrah

A few parting shots from one of our favorite places...

Hot tub time.  A big moment when Dexter actually got inside the tub.  A first for him.

Now more relaxed after another day.

The trusty dog, Trigger.

The trusty chickens.

Throwing snow to the dog was a favorite pastime.

After a trip to the hen house.

Checking out downtown Bozeman.

At the Airport, happy about our trip.

Sad to be saying goodbye.

Time for our two plane trips that began at 5pm.

At the end of flight number 2.

Mom with a tired boy waiting to get off plane.

Tired kids on parking shuttle.

The ride home at midnight.

We had a another great ski day with the Gill/Higgins clan...

Maya and Dexter's sleeping area.

Maya's clothes in a secret corn between the couches with her labeled outfits.

Heading up the lift.

Ma and pa get a little time to relax while Dex is in a lesson and Maya is idolizing her cousin.

Katie talks about our ski plan.

Ski selfie.

Ski gang!  Dexter, Momma, Scott, Sue, Maya and Katie.

Dexter loving his cousin.

Snowball fight!

Happy skier.

Yellowstone in Winter

Today Scott took us on an adventure in Yellowstone National Park.

We took this picture to show Gram that we were all together.

What not to do in Yellowstone.

Walking up the path to some of the weird water features.

Cascading mineral deposits from the heated springs.

Scott and Kearsley.

This place is a lot more beautiful than it appears in the photos.

Winter fun.

Nothing is as fun as throwing snow into steaming water.

Watching the snow melt.

More crazy formations.

Buffalo hanging out with us at the visitor center.  The took off before we left.

Then Scott took us up this trail to the Boiling River.  Sounds inviting...yes?

Boiling River is actually a little spot in this river where a hot springs dumps into the river creating a natural hot tub surrounded by freezing river water.

Mom in her bathing suit and neck warmer.  It's a good look.

After our first failed attempt to find a good hot spot at the easier access point which wasn't nearly warm enough.  After a difficult attempt to get to the warmer section, Daddy and Dexter opted out of the adventure.

Dexter  waiting as Momma, Maya and Scott venture down the river to warm spot.

This is where we ended up.

Driving by some antelope and a buffalo hunt on the way home.

Moody weather on our way home from our epic Yellowstone adventure.
