10 Months, The Colemans Visit

On June 5th, we got some exciting visitors. Our good friends, Dani and Dave Coleman (Mom knows Dani from Evergreen High School days), were visiting for a wedding and came over with their adorable twins, Adi and Mae. Adi and Mae are about 12 weeks younger than Maya, but you would never guess that based on their size. Maya is outweighed by each of them. But, Maya's wisdom about eating, hand gestures, and movement kept the two of them fascinated. Maya loved meeting her Colorado friends.

10 Months, Welcome!

On June 4th, Maya decided to step up the hospitality at the Higgins/Vaziri household...

"Welcome..."

"Please, come inside"

"You have to go? Too bad. I'll see you later!"

10 Months, Brighton's Birthday

On June 1st, we went to Brighton's 2nd birthday party. Brighton is an adorable little guy who has an odd infatuation with "baby Maya." He loved spending time with his younger girlfriend.

Yay, presents!

Jason (Brighton's dad) helps him open a present.

Maya likes riding on Dad's shoulders and she likes gnawing on her upper gum.

Brighton's party was fun!

The "Wall-E" Premiere

On May 31st, Mom and Dad went to the big wrap party and screening of the latest Pixar movie, "Wall-E." Mom spent over a year working on the film even though she was on maternity leave for the last part of the production. She worked as the Layout Coordinator and then as the Sweatbox Manager (facilitates moving shots through the production pipeline).

The party was held at the Masonic Auditorium in downtown San Francisco. We've been to a few of these parties, but this one was bittersweet because it will probably be the last Pixar film that Mom will work on for a while. In fact, two days after the premiere, Mom told Pixar that she wasn't going to return to work.

It was a big treat to see the finished film. It was nice not know every detail of the final film before seeing it. We were blown away by great animation and the beautiful artistic and technical work captured in every frame. The best part was getting to see so many friends dressed up and having fun.

You can see "Wall-E" on June 27th in theaters. Click here for the trailer.

10 Months, Conservatory of Flowers

On May 21st, we went to the Conservatory of Flowers with Olen and his Mom, Sarah. Maya loved the beautiful rooms filled with plants and the special butterfly exhibit. Of course, she always like spending time with Olen.

The Conservatory is oldest building of its type in North America.

Maya thinks it's neat.

Maya thinks Olen's neat too.

A little girl was very entertained by a butterfly that landed on her leg in the butterfly section.

10 Months, Brunch Outing

On May 18th, we decided to get brunch in Noe Valley. Wow. Hard to believe?...Not really...Is Maya cute?...Definitely.

Waving is quite entertaining.

Riding in the Prius is thrilling.

And sitting in a booth at a restaurant...simply the best thing that's ever happened, ever.

10 Months, Heat Wave

Around May 16th, a heat wave hit San Francisco. Temperatures got up into the nineties whch is highly unusual for us cool weather folks. Maya ended up crawling around in her onesie or just a diaper during the day. It was nice to get out of the hot house and be hot elsewhere, like at the zoo. We met up with a couple of the mother's group moms and babies and looked at some very hot polar bears.

Maya, Olen, and Corinne at the zoo.

Hot and bothered.

Nice gams, Maya.

10 Months, Attention Getter

On May 12th we headed home, and Momma tried to subtly feed Maya in the airport. Let's just say that Maya doesn't stay undercover very well these days. If she wasn't kicking and pulling at the nursing cover, she was peeking her head out at passers by and Daddy.

"Hello!"

10 Months, Portraits

Over the Mother's Day weekend, Sam got out his fancy photographic equipment and took a few planned photos. Sears Portrait Studio, eat your heart out.
