"Bouncing Baby Boy" video

Dexter tests out hanging bouncy that we borrowed from Laura.  Bouncing in this thing is cute (and slightly disturbing)...

"Fun, Baja Style" video

A little montage of our Mexico trip (may contain embarrassing video of a certain someone trying to drive a backhoe)...

Bonfire

The night before heading home, we enjoyed a little bonfire.  Next time we need to remember the marshmallows.

Maya and Pop enjoy fiery goodness.

Lulu and Pop and their four grandchildren (one more coming soon).  What a wonderful trip!

Cerritos

No trip to Todos Santos is complete without a trip to the most popular beach in the area, Cerritos.

Getting set up.

Maya delivers water for sand castle building.

Dexter loves the beach...at least the sitting on the towel part.

The water is a different story.

He seems to feel the same way as Maya did at nine months.

Momma had to take Dex home for a nap, but Maya stayed and played with her cousins.

Racing down the beach.

Happy girl.

Backhoe Dreams And Birthday Wishes

There are some opportunities that only seem to arise when we are in Mexico.  Seven years ago, Oscar's father, Oscar Sr., indulged Kearsley in by allowing her to operate heavy machinery at their remote property in Los Dolores.  Here is a gleeful Kearsley in December 2005.

 The power!!

After quite a bit of tutoring from Oscar Sr., Kearsley scoops up this rock for no apparent reason.

Then drops it a few feet away.  Awesome.

Happiness.

Returning to present, the backhoe has made her way back to Todos Santos, and Oscar Sr. generously offers Kearsley a wonderful birthday gift.  He offers to let her relive the magic and drive the backhoe once more.

Hello old friend.  It's been far too long.

Dirt anyone?

It only took about twenty minutes to successfully scoop this particular dirt.

Now she attempts to dump the dirt in a useful spot.

The peanut gallery offers plenty of feedback on her efforts.

After all that fun, Maya decided to take her for a spin.

Nice work, Maya!  Thank you, Oscar Sr.!

Fiesta Time

Momma's birthday once again happened to fall on our trip to Mexico.  This year, we spent the big day swimming and taking a beach walk.  Marimar was kind enough to also make a delicious birthday dinner.

Birthday fun in the pool.

 Maya is in kid heaven.

We discovered a new game...old irrigation lines connected to hot tub jets equals wet grandparents.

Watch out Lulu!

Pop decided to help Maya make a necklace with shells she found on the beach.

One way to make a necklace.  Don't try this at home.

Baja Delights

In our first couple days, we found many ways to stay happy in the Baja.

First, it's time for fishing for koi in a very algae filled pond.

Maya catches one.

Maya looks at the fish she caught.  No need to worry, we released the koi after a brief victory dance.

Of course, happiness can easily be found in a delicious breakfast at Marimar's cafe, La Esquina.

Next it's time for a quick walk around the neighborhood to check out some donkeys, goats, and horses.

Maya and Santi get busy playing a Higgins favorite, Sorry!

Then, it's time for tea with Kalea.

Don't forget to do your water aerobics.

And enjoy some fun with the family.

A perfect afternoon is achieved with the addition of some amazing fish tacos.

Yum!!

Back To The Baja

Our first airplane adventure as a family of four was a trip down to Todos Santos to visit Marimar, Oscar, Santi, and Kalea and Lulu and Pop.  Dexter strongly disliked the airplane.  Therefore, many of the passengers strongly disliked us.  Good times.  Anyhow, after a long day of travel, we were happy to kick off our shoes and RELAX.

Aaahhhh...Mexico.
