Doing More Things

Well, we are still being very cautious, but trying to do a bit more.

After abandoning our partially built set in March, We finally felt comfortable enough to get few parents to agree to come out and put everything away. Cheers to a clean hangar!

Maya has been playing lot's of Nintendo's Zelda:BOTW. This is a comic based on the game. If you knew the rules of the game, you would understand the fabulous humor.

It's time for the school art show.

Dexter class all made chickens. His is "cool."

Special Friends' Day and Art

This year for the schools Grandparents and Special Friends' Day, Billy came to hang out with Maya and Dexter. They showed him all the cool stuff they were doing.

 Yes, that's Dexter with as a devil with a six (for his age).

 The brown creature in the center is a Platypus, Dexter's favorite animal. There is what looks like a 69 on top which is actually two sixes (for his age) positioned with one facing each way. There are colorful skulls all over him too. Dexter has an interesting aesthetic.

The Usual

Here's some of what happens around here...

Ridge Run

Today we skied again. The kids both took lessons in the morning and Momma took the Gill/Higgins challenge to actually hike to the Bridger ridge and then ski down the shear face. It requires wearing a transponder in case of an avalanche, so...not terrifying at all.

Hiking up the mountain in ski boots was more challenging than I imagined. It's very steep and not only is tiring, you also feel like you might fall backwards down the hill.  Here's Katie at the halfway point which is flatter than other spots.

At the top of the ridge. See those people walking up the ridge further away. We have hike that same ridge to get to the traverse.

Here we go. First we had to ski a long traverse across the ridge to and area known as "the Apron." The Apron was selected because it was the way down that was the least likely to kill Momma. The traverse can be somewhat treacherous, but because there was so much snow it was fairly easy going.

At the bottom. See where we came down behind. Momma made it down. It wasn't beautiful, but she survived and it pretty excited that she took the challenge! Of course, Scott and Katie are known to take several of these runs in a day.
