Back to School For Dex

This year Dexter is starting well before Maya. This year he's in 8th grade!!

Dexter Graduates from Elementary School

Well, it's time for new chapters and Dexter is very excited to be going to Maya's school next year. However, it will be very sad to say goodbye to his wonderful elementary school. The school has a lovely ceremony for these kids to celebrate.

End of School Celebrations

End of school celebrations are particularly poignant as Dexter finishes his last year at his elementary school.

6th graders get to make full sized pictures of their favorite characters from Greek mythology.

6th graders also get to play in a band for music. Dexter learned how to play the clarinet and they performed a rousing Star Wars theme for the crowd.

Later that week was field day and sixth graders get to monopolize the dunk tank.

First Day of 5th Grade

Back to school time is here. Dexter is ready for 5th grade!!

Last Day of School

The last day of school is here. We got a shot of Dexter, but not of Maya. Dexter finsished first, then Maya a few days later.

Dexter's First Day

Dexter started school early this year. To make up for learning lost last year, school started a couple weeks sooner than normal.

It's a very quick walk to school.

Dexter is ready to walk into a building that we know nothing about to start his 4th grade year. Brave kid. Wish we could go in and meet the teachers, but we aren't allowed. 

Back to Real School

We are so grateful that our school was able to open back up to in person school.

Dexter got to go back two days before Maya.

Then it was time for Maya.

It's great to go back, but it is still school.

The Jungle Book

Dexter had a fabulous time at his Arts in Action camp this summer. They prepped a Jungle Book show and performed it on the last day.

 After his performance. He was a mischievous monkey.

Dexter went on a fun field trip to a goat and sheep farm.
