After spending half our week with Nate and Coco, we headed up the North Shore to check out that part of the island. We stayed at the Turtle Bay Resort and had fun exploring the sites and just hanging out.
Yes, this is what a pineapple plant looks like. There were a few of these at the Dole Plantation on the way North.
We stopped at Waimea Bay beach for a little relaxation. In the winter this is the most famous big-wave break in Hawaii. In the summer, the waves FAR less exciting which was wonderful for us.

Maya had a great time swimming in the three pools there. Here she is making friends in the baby pool. 
We don't have a picture of the actual slide, but Maya loved this big kid's pool too because of it's waterslide. Very exciting.

For a more adventurous beach trip, we went to Shark's Cove known for its tide pools.

On one of our last nights, we went to the Polynesian Center to see a dance show which was very impressive. Afterward, we went down to the stage and got to meet some of the dancers. This cool dude was the star of the show. Maya was excited to learn the shaka sign from him. We can't wait to visit again. What a wonderful trip.
