Halloween Night

The big night is here. The neighborhood only allowed people with chutes to give out candy. There were far fewer people out and about. Our neighborhood association printed out a map of chute houses and it was fun to have a very local and creative Halloween.

The house is ready. COVID markings and everything.

Because no one is coming up the stairs, we moved some of our porch display down.

Halloween During Pandemic

Halloween has been surprisingly fun this year even in the pandemic.

Dexter decided to be a shadow.

This year, our neighborhood discouraged trick or treating unless you signed up to have chute for no contact delivery of candy. We signed up and got our carpet roll tube for the event.

We used this (fake) pumpkin at the end where the candy would come out. Looks like it's ready to go.

First COVID Test

The pandemic world is full of firsts...After just a couple of days at school, Dexter came down with a cold. It was very minor, but sadly, that meant that he needed a COVID test otherwise he and his sis had to be quarantined for 14 days. Getting the test on Sunday was not that straight-forward. We couldn't get a same day appointment anywhere without going through a doctor's office. So, after many phone calls and an after-hours telehealth visit, we got an appointment at a drive thru test site in Novato.

We did it. Luckily the test result came back negative. Hooray!

Back to Real School

We are so grateful that our school was able to open back up to in person school.

Dexter got to go back two days before Maya.

Then it was time for Maya.

It's great to go back, but it is still school.
