Millennium Park

After the art museum, we walked to Millennium Park on this HOT day...

The crazy spitting fountains.

Maya gets cool.

Of course, we had to stop at the Cloud Gate.

Hello, kids.

Add a dad.

Ma and Pa.

Mirror fun.

Look who's there.

Reflections.  After this we had fun at Maggie Dailey Park and Playground.  What a great spot for kids.

Heading home we passed the less famous, but super tall Aon Center.

The Art Institute of Chicago

Exploring one of the world's great art museums...

 Welcome to the Institute.

Wow.

Starting a few centuries ago...

Lounging and looking.

Careful examination.

Famous paintings...

Saturday in the Park with Friends by Seurat.

Nighthawks by Edward Hopper.

This closeup gives a better idea of the beauty of this piece.

Van Gogh anyone?

Getting modern and contemporary...

Starting photo series...

Maya and Dex with Jackson Pollock.

Maya and Dex with Takashi Murakami's Reversed Double Helix.

An unusual Georgia O'keeffe.

Maya contemplates Picasso's blue period.

 Now for a little Magritte.

More Magritte.

Maya takes pictures of some of her favorite Hindu deities.  A beautiful Shiva Nataraja.

Dudes at the museum

Welcome to the Thorne miniatures exhibit.

Amazing miniature rooms constructed to show the living areas from different regions and time periods.

Very cool.

Yes, these are all in miniature.

Great lighting...

...great detail.

Amazing.
