LA Baby!!

After over a year without seeing the Golden State, we decided to visit both LA and the Bay Area. First stop, the Kender Page home. Sam and Jess had to work, so we decided to have some LA adventures by day.

First full day. A trip to UCLA enroute to persian food!!

Inside a historic building at UCLA.

Steps!

Lunch at Shamshiri.

OMG.

Max was with us and got to enjoy this insane feast.

The next day, we went back over the hill again to see the Getty.

The kids have never been there.

The views!

Lovely.

The kids found this little cove for sitting.

We realized this was probably the exact same spot where we sate over 20 years ago.

He's Kearsley and Todd in 2001 at the Getty which had only been open for 4 years.

Lots of travertine.

Thinking by a fountain.

Dexter contemplates life.

After Getty we walked to dinner with our pals.

Fun to be back!!

Birthday Dinner

Maya is enjoying some birthday fun (party will be later in the summer).

First breakfast at her favorite spot (Madame Matisse).

Then cards and boba.

Enjoying Dexter's card to her.

Birthday smooch.

High excitement with dinner at Izanami.

Sunset after yummy food. Happy Birthday Maya!!

Maya at 15 Years

Here are the current stats:

Height: 5’5”

Maya continues to leap into her young adult self. She’s finished her first year of high school with great grades and has made a whole new group of friends. She started fencing and tennis as her HS sports and performed in the school play. She has become a feverish drawer and has improved her skills after taking a drawing course at school.

She loves baking and is growing her cooking skills. She’s busy and is having fun with friends. We’ve become much less restrictive in regarding to socializing since Covid. The kids are starting to really be acting like typical kids again, but I do see some hesitation to get out there as all the kids are used to being homebodies.

Overall, Maya has proven herself to be strong and resilient and we love seeing her independently explore and grow.

Favorite movie: The Godfather

Favorite food: Dim Sum

Next Chapter

Well, it was a good first year in Santa Fe. Now we need to say goodbye to one house and hello to another. Moving once a year is fun! Oh yeah...more Covid. No stress around here!

Today we move away from the little house that welcomed us to Santa Fe.

Moving to the new house which is in a more hilly rural location. Here we go!

After our first full day in the new house and 10 days after Todd had Covid. This happened to Kearsley.

Masked and making brief appearances in the hallway. Luckily only mild symptoms.

Cooking in the new kitchen.

Our new spot.
