Mexico: Las Palmas

Today Lulu and Pop took us to our favorite beach, Las Palmas. It's down a long dirt road near an oasis of palm trees by a little stream. There were a couple people at the beach when we got there, but soon we had the whole place to ourselves.

Ready for the beach.

After the beach, we had lunch at another delicious spot near Pescadero, a town South of Todos Santos.

Mexico: Turtle Time

Monday in Mexico was very exciting because Maya got to go to pre-school with Santi and then got to go see the turtles being released at the local beach. Delightful.

Maya has her coffee before pre-school.

Ready to go.

These turtles hatched hours ago.

Ready...set...go!

Wow.

The turtles make their way SLOWLY to the water.

The little brown dots on the sand are turtles. And, yes, this is a beautiful beach.

Sand: Endlessly fascinating.

Lulu, Momma, and Maya return after turtle-y goodness.

Mexico: Sunday at Cerritos

After our Thanksgiving with Coco, we jumped on a plane to visit Miss Marimar and her family in Todos Santos. We arrived in Todos Santos on Saturday evening. The next morning, we took part in the standard Sunday ritual of relaxing at Cerritos beach. Nice.

Maya is finally 'getting' plane travel. She was excited to look out the window and see that we were way above the ground.

She was also very excited to watch video and eat snacks. We don't have special headphones for Maya, so we used a little creative problem solving to keep the United Airlines headphones on her ears (stuffed animal on head).

Hard times at the Cerritos beach.

The beer isn't missing. It's in Pop's other hand.

Santi and his body board.

Serious digging...

...with an expert digging buddy.

After beach fun, we had a late lunch near the beach (Marimar is 8 months pregnant).

Santi and Maya play with pogs which seems to involve pushing random disks around a table.

Why aren't all restaurants equipped with hammocks?

BTW, we love Santi.

Thanksgiving with Coco and Nate

This year we got to spend Thanksgiving with the newly married Coco and Nate. It was fun to spend the day together cooking, eating, and eating some more.

Copycat

Maya is loving drawing these days. She's achieved better control and is now enjoying creating more complex shapes and objects. Here some pix of her drawing with Daddy.

Maya's favorite drawing position.

Daddy drew the picture on the left, then Maya tried to copy it (on the right).

Nick Time

Nick and Maya got to spend some quality time together recently.

On November 6th, they enjoyed dinner...

...and a movie.

A week later, the headed out to the beach with their mommas. Nick enjoyed playing in some giant holes.

While Maya explored her love/hate relationship with the waves.

Random Maya

A few random shots of Maya from Fall 2010:
