Yellowstone in Winter

Today Scott took us on an adventure in Yellowstone National Park.

We took this picture to show Gram that we were all together.

What not to do in Yellowstone.

Walking up the path to some of the weird water features.

Cascading mineral deposits from the heated springs.

Scott and Kearsley.

This place is a lot more beautiful than it appears in the photos.

Winter fun.

Nothing is as fun as throwing snow into steaming water.

Watching the snow melt.

More crazy formations.

Buffalo hanging out with us at the visitor center.  The took off before we left.

Then Scott took us up this trail to the Boiling River.  Sounds inviting...yes?

Boiling River is actually a little spot in this river where a hot springs dumps into the river creating a natural hot tub surrounded by freezing river water.

Mom in her bathing suit and neck warmer.  It's a good look.

After our first failed attempt to find a good hot spot at the easier access point which wasn't nearly warm enough.  After a difficult attempt to get to the warmer section, Daddy and Dexter opted out of the adventure.

Dexter  waiting as Momma, Maya and Scott venture down the river to warm spot.

This is where we ended up.

Driving by some antelope and a buffalo hunt on the way home.

Moody weather on our way home from our epic Yellowstone adventure.
