While Mommy and Daddy were off in Mexico, Maya had a fabulous time Grammy and Papa for 4 days and 3 nights. Apparently, Maya rarely asked about us. I think the pictures below will explain why...

Sayulita for Grown-Ups
After a spending a few days with Grammy and Papa in our new house, Mommy and Daddy got on an airplane headed south of the border to the little town of Sayulita, just north of Puerto Vallarta on the west coast of Mexico. Coco invited us several months before for a bachelor/bachelorette party in honor of the upcoming September nuptials of her and Nate. Thanks to the very gracious offer of babysitting from Grammy and Papa, this was our first trip away from Maya. Although it was VERY hard to say goodbye, we had a wonderful time! It was fun to sleep, stay out late, enjoy the beautiful town and beach with Coco's friends and Marimar and Oscar. It was very special for us.

Grammy and Papa's 40th Anniversary
Lucky for us, Grammy and Papa decided to visit us at the new house. Maya was thrilled, as were we, especially because they offered to babysit Maya for a few days so we could go to Mexico for Coco's bachelor/bachelorette party for three whole nights!! More on that later.
This September Grammy and Papa will celebrate their 40th anniversary. The second night they were here, we decided to take advantage of their visit and give them an anniversary treat a few months early. Four fancy outfits, one babysitter, one limo with driver, and four amazing courses later at Fleur de Lys in San Francisco seemed to add up to a truly memorable evening. We were so happy to be able to surprise Grammy and Papa San Francisco style. We had a great time.

The Lawn
What sort of relationship do you have with lawns? For Maya's Momma, she thinks of her Dad on a tractor mower hacking down 3 foot high wild grass in Colorado to create our lawn...which didn't exactly feel good to a barefoot. Maya's daddy grew up with a large lawn in the Chicago suburbs that needed regular mowing, raking, etc. After college, we lived in apartments and we lived in LA where I don't think anyone is a allowed to do their own yard work. The we moved to San Francisco where we had no yards at all. Then, after moving to San Rafael, we suddenly have A LAWN.
We bought a little electric mower and now Todd is reliving his youth by mowing the grass his very own backyard.
