Meanwhile in San Diego...More Sick

Maya and Mommy made it down to San Diego and then we got the news that Dexter had the flu and that he and Daddy wouldn't be able to join us. It was sad, but we tried to make the best of it.

On Thanksgiving morning we participated in the Turkey Trot 5K. As you may have guessed our time was not that impressive.

A little beach time before turkey. Vivi with her dad.

Now with her Momma.

Charlotte and David.

Maya making a sand ball.

Double sand balls.  Sadly right after we got back to Coco and Nate's, Maya started feeling bad...very bad.

At dinner, Maya was going downhill fast and we were having trouble making things festive. So instead of a picture of a beautiful Thanksgiving spread, instead we present handful of turkey bones.

Knowing what was coming in terms of sickness and not wanting to contaminate their entire house, we changed our flight and left Friday morning with Maya wearing a face mask in the airport. On the way to the airport, we got to see Coco's amazing new office.  Other than the good company in San Diego, it was a terrible Thanksgiving. Maya was sick for the next 7 days.

Sick Thanksgiving

During the run of the play, Dexter got sick. He was sick for most of the week, but seemed better by Tuesday. However, on Wednesday morning when we were all planning to fly to San Diego, Dexter woke with a high fever and a terrible cough again. Fearing that he had the flu and it had now turned into something else, Daddy stayed home to take Dexter to the doctor.

Due to the fires in Northern California, even raking the leaves required protection.

Sick kid.

At the doctor's office - it's officially "the flu."

How Dexter spent Thanksgiving.

Sad.
