Strange Days

We are beginning to really feel the reality that we are moving to New Mexico on July 1st. Every moment is generally spent doing something for the last time, saying goodbye, or packing.

Maya gets to go on one last outdoor ed overnight with her class. It's not the big trip that they usually do, but it's nice they get to have one night away as a class.

Organizing and deciding which books go where in the big move.

This one was hard. Sara and Brandon are also moving and today was the last time we would see them before the move. Bonus, we got to see Arrel who was visiting from Santa Barbara.

This one is just fun on the couch.

The master of the washer and dryer.

Vince and Anita Get Married

Our first COVID wedding.  Our two friends, Vince and Anita, decided to delay no longer, and tied the knot from their porch.

The first time we've driven across a bridge since the lockdown.

The bridge and groom begin the nuptials.

Socially distanced onlookers.

They are married!!!

Oscar Time: Women in Hollywood

It's that time of year again. This time we hosted the party with the usual crowd. This time the theme is Women in Hollywood.

Daddy dresses up as Ripley from "Alien."

I'm dressed up as Grace Kelly as Lisa in "Rear Window."

Looking good?

Dexter in his classic garb, Maya dressed up as Joe from "Little Women."

The crew is ready to watch.

Maya, Dan, and Anna having way too much fun flicking Dots into each other's mouths on video.

Hilarious.

Dexter is also enjoying himself.

Always fun with this crew.

Oscar Night

It's about that time of year again...

 Fake hair cut time.

 Looking suitably annoyed.

An artist at work.

Another fun night of Oscars with friends.

Maya shifted her strategy this year to actually try to win. She did a lot of research before filling out her ballot.

The suspense.

As if the whole thing is rigged, two Vaziris took home the cash again.

New Year's Eve

This year Dan and Kim invited us to their house again for a delightful New Year's Eve. This year we got to preview Dan's new bar, Northlight.

Our own private bar.

Kid dinner while we were at the bar.

We made shrimp cocktail. It was yummy.

Maya gets a fancy drink.

Older kid drinks.

Now with the youngers.

Discovering new career paths.

Num num.

A coursed dinner with cool people.

Ladies.

Gents. An "interesting" bunch.

Goodbye Bainbridge, Hello Olympic Peninsula

After our last morning with the Bainbridge crew, we started our adventure around the Olympic Peninsula.

Morning coffee with Jon, the writer. His new book cover photo.

Pastries and coffee.

Driving to our first destination on the peninsula. We had planned to drive up to the top of one of the mountains to see the view, but the smoky air was not great for the views.

Instead, we stopped at the national park lodge on Lake Crescent which is beautiful, even in the smoke.

On the dock.

Smoky, but good.

Checking out the beach.

Swimming. We are on the dock.

Daddy got to soak his ankle.

Time to head to the motel for ice cream!

We found this in our motel room. She had no idea what it was.

Life on Bainbridge

We did many fun things with Wandee, Jon, Isla and Rose.

The kids picked blackberries and then used them to make scones.

Yummy!

Maya likes.

So does Rose.

Wandee and Dexter. A portrait.

We went to the the beach. The sky was hazy because of fires in British Columbia.

Next made friends with people who like to dig.

Now for a stop at the pool.

Maya learns how to mow the lawn (or at least drive the tractor).

Watch out world!

They did some swinging.

Jon and Mommy made something. Not so sure what it is.

Dexter trying out the something.

Apparently, on Monday nights in the summer, there's a running race for kids at the local High School. It was pretty fun. Both kids raced.

High school dudes.
