Baths Are Better With Two

Maya was very excited to share bath time with her little brother. Tonight she finally got her chance.

So cute.

Happy boy.

San Francisco Mamas

Our San Francisco Mother's Group has now been together for more than 4 years. Kathy invited us all to a lovely holiday brunch. I can't believe how much they've changed.

Gabriel, Olen and younger brother Jonathan, Miles, Sadie, Maya, and Charlotte.

Getting sillier. It wasn't as hard to keep them on the all on the couch way back when.

Now the kiddies with their mommas and two new arrivals, Dexter (9/25/11) and Westin (9/1/11).

Christmas With St. Nick

Okay it's not Saint Nick...it's just Nick. We seemed to have developed a couple of fun Christmas traditions that involve Nick and his family. Delightful.

First stop is the zoo for a photo on the fake Christmas train.  Maya and Nick did ride on the actual moving train on their own.

No trip to the San Francisco zoo is complete without seeing the grizzly bear's morning hunt for live fish.

Laura never fails to mention that bears love fish, apples and small children.

Two days later we found ourselves at the now annual trip to BADM to make gingerbread houses.

Construction begins.

Two candy cane chimneys.

Nick's finished masterpiece.

Their excitement is partially due to the fun of constructing a house out of candy and partially due to ingesting the construction materials.

Family Photos

Our neighbors are professional photographers (Nick + Laura) and they volunteered to do a quick photo session for our Christmas card. We couldn't believe how many great shots they got in less than a half hour. Thank you!

Christmas Trees And Botched Haircuts

After Daddy's first week back at work, we decided it was time to get ready for Christmas.

Daddy got Momma some flowers to celebrate making through the first week at home alone with two kiddies.

On Friday night, Momma decided to trim Maya's bangs. This has been done before with decent results, but this time, Momma was unsatisfied. She tried to fix it a few times, but realized she needed help. We went to breakfast in Fairfax and Momma noticed an old fashioned barber shop. Thankfully the owner took mercy on us and cleaned up the little lady's bangs.

Phew!! I don't think Maya will be letting Momma cut her hair anytime soon.

Now we are off to get a Christmas tree with a very strong Daddy and Maya.

Yay, Christmas Tree.

Maya demonstrates where the Christmas tree is now located.

Decorating time.

Dexter at 2 Months

Little Dexter just had his 2 month doctor visit so it seems like a good time for the latest stats:

Weight: 12lbs 13oz (around 75th percentile)
Height: 24.5 inches (around 75th percentile)
Head: Big...above 95th percentile

He's a healthy little guy. He still has some baby acne and cradle cap. He's nursing well and is beginning to have longer stretches of sleep at night. He's now sleeping in a little moses basket in our room (instead of in the bed with us).

He loves looking at people's faces. That is the only thing that elicits his very cute smiles. He's definitely enjoying being awake more. He still craves constant motion whether walking, bouncing, driving in the car, or strolling.

Daddy just went back to work this week. We feel very lucky that he got to spend these early weeks with us. Now Mommy and Maya are now figuring out the weekday routine with Dexter. It's a bit crazy, but so far so good.
