Mexico: Sunset Fun

We took a drive up to La Pastora beach to watch the sunset. We had the whole beach to ourselves and took advantage of the great light to get some photos...

Mexico: Thankgiving Turtles

This Thanksgiving we worked up an appetite walking down to the beach to watch the nightly release of the newly hatched sea turtles. After sunset, we headed back home for a delicious turkey dinner. We were so thankful to have so many members of the family together.

Turtle eggs have all been collected from nearby beaches and buried here by volunteers. Right on schedule the turtles hatch (and dug up by volunteers) ready to head for the ocean.

Little sea turtles just hatched hours ago.

Maya pets the turtle.

Go turtles go!

Enjoying sunset after the turtle release.

Thanksgiving dinner was yummy. Although we didn't capture a shot of the adult table, the kid table sure was cute!

Serious cousins.

Silly cousins.

...Grammy and Papa!

We soon arrived at Lulu and Pop's house where Maya enjoyed checking out the pool...

and spending time with all four grandparents!

See You Later Alligator

Over the years we've become very close friends with the families from our Mother's Group. Julie, Tyler, Natalie and baby Noah Gibbs have been wonderful friends to us during these first years of parenting. Sadly, they've decided to move to Michigan to be near family. Here are a few shots of our last get-together for a while. We will miss you!

"Justin Roberts Concert" video

Maya has been to a few free outdoor concerts, but this Saturday we decided to take her to her first inside-pay-money-to-go concerts. Maya loved it. Even better, her music teacher and musician extraordinaire, Charity, sang vocals for one of the songs and spent the last part of the concert dancing with Maya. Justin Roberts and his band are so cool...

Northwestern Reunion

Lucky for us, our dear friend from college, Liz, and her fabulous husband, Jon, decided to make a rare visit to San Francisco from Wisconsin. The occasion called for a reunion. Other good friends from Northwestern days, Sarah and Eric, drove in from Oakland and we had a wonderful dinner together. We took a few photos after dinner and we couldn't believe that we've known each other for 15 years. Wow!

"Candles" video

Maya has no shortage of imagination these days. One day when Momma walked into the living room, Maya had taken her stacking rings and peg toys and created birthday cakes. Here's a video of us playing with Maya's birthday cakes...
