Parent's Weekend

We are back to Northwestern to visit Maya for Parent's weekend. Todd and Dex haven't seen any of Maya's new world yet.

Balloon Fiesta - Finally

We've heard about the fiesta for years, but we finally made it to the big show. 

You have to arrive before dawn at around 5am to get parking and get to the site in Albuquerque.

The first balloons are lighting up. They usually send up a test balloon to make sure the wind is low enough for an ascent. 

Looks like the winds are in our favor and balloons will fly today.

People are allowed to just walk around all the balloons. It's pretty cool.

Dexter has been having fun this season with the middle school tennis team. He also got around to putting up his new posters for his room.

Dexter was excited to have his 15th birthday at the park and then we walked over for the screening at Jean Cocteau Cinema.

Birthday With the Fam

Today's the day. It was a pretty mellow day with big plans for tomorrow for his party. Mostly just opening presents after dinner - a little sad to be celebrating without Maya.

Maya left Dexter a special little gift before she left. Some cool stickers.

A Halloween mask was requested.

And, we got seats for a screening of Raiders of the Lost Ark for his party tomorrow.
