9 Months, Daddy's Little Girl

Maya's been looking more and more like Daddy these days. On April 27, Daddy took some portraits of his little lady.

9 Months, San Francisco Baby

Sometimes we forget that we live in such an amazing city. On the weekend of April 26 and 27th, we indulged in some San Francisco fun. On Saturday, we went down to the ferry building for the farmer's market and, on Sunday, we met up with the Katz family in the park. Very fun.

At the Ferry Building.

We took the Muni downtown.

9 Months, Home Again

All good things must come to an end. On April 22nd, we headed home after our fun stay in Chicago. Maya was sad to say goodbye, but we'll be back again.

"Bye! Hope to see you again soon!"

9 Months, Sarah, Eric and Leo

On April 20th, Sarah, Eric, and Leo came by to visit. Leo is now 2 years old. We had a great time eating Jimmy John's subs (a favorite treat while we were students at Northwestern) and enjoying playing in Uncle Mike and Aunt Shellys' backyard.

Leo runs to the swing set.

Here's comes Nancy.

A nice 'candid' shot of Eric and Kearsley.

9 Months, More Cousin Fun

Here's more shots of our adventures at the Shelly and Mikes' house...

"If only there were some toys to play with."

Matthew is a great reader.

With chalk, the kids (and Uncle Todd) created a whole city.

9 Months, Teeth!

After blaming every cranky or sleepless moment to teething for the past 5 months, Maya finally produced two glorious teeth. On April 19th, at 9.5 months old, Maya Higgins Vaziri's first two teeth broke through the lower gum line. For all the excitement happening in her mouth, she didn't seem to feel much discomfort. However, she did decide to gnaw on her tongue for the next few days. As for pictures of the tiny teeth, it might take some time to capture them on film as they are almost as illusive as the first smile.

9 Months, Cute Hat 2 - The Vengeance

Grammy was experimenting with her new hobby, knitting, when she created this very cute hat. It wasn't originally intended for Maya, but that didn't stop her trying on the hat and declaring that it should be referred to as 'cute' (This has only happened once before). We think she looks like punk Marge Simpson.

9 Months, At Grammy and Papa's House

Maya had a lot fun at Grammy and Papa's house. She had her own room with a crib courtesy of Aunt Shelly and Uncle Mike. She got to play fun games and spend lots of time with her grandparents.

Practicing standing.

Playing ball with Grammy is fun.

9 Months, Matthew's Show

On April 17th, we got to go see Matthew's kindergarten musical performance. It was quite an event and we felt lucky that we got to see it. Matthew's song was about musical monkeys and he did a great job singing and performing the choreography.

Grammy and Nancy eagerly await the show.

Full house.

Here they come...

Too cute!

Maya loved the show...

...and she also loves Papa!

9 Months, Cousin Fun

Later on April 16th, we headed over to the Aunt Shelly and Uncle Mikes' house for dinner. Her cousins showed Maya their cool toys.
