"Bozeman Snow" video

Heres a little video including some timelapse photos of our approach into Bozeman on the plane and some of our cool skiing adventures. It's amazing that we can all ski together now!

A Day Off

After three days of skiing, we took the day off. We decided to check out one of our favorite museums, head to a hot springs, and enjoy Bozeman.

Fun with the T-Rex outside the Museum of the Rockies which has an amazing dinosaur exhibit.

Glad this guy doesn't bite.

Hangin' with the triceratops.

Our last night together.

Looking downstairs at two puzzlers.

Sadly, the next morning we were on our way home.

Ridge Run

Today we skied again. The kids both took lessons in the morning and Momma took the Gill/Higgins challenge to actually hike to the Bridger ridge and then ski down the shear face. It requires wearing a transponder in case of an avalanche, so...not terrifying at all.

Momma with Katie at the the start of the hike up.

Hiking up the mountain in ski boots was more challenging than I imagined. It's very steep and not only is tiring, you also feel like you might fall backwards down the hill.  Here's Katie at the halfway point which is flatter than other spots.

At the top of the ridge. See those people walking up the ridge further away. We have hike that same ridge to get to the traverse.

Momma with Katie and Scott. Ready for skiing down...maybe?

Here we go. First we had to ski a long traverse across the ridge to and area known as "the Apron." The Apron was selected because it was the way down that was the least likely to kill Momma. The traverse can be somewhat treacherous, but because there was so much snow it was fairly easy going.

Heading down the Apron in some nice powder.

Look at the real skiers making it look easy.

At the bottom. See where we came down behind. Momma made it down. It wasn't beautiful, but she survived and it pretty excited that she took the challenge! Of course, Scott and Katie are known to take several of these runs in a day.

Meanwhile, Todd took these photos when he skied on his own.

Lovely.

The kids return.

Having fun with Katie.

Zero Degrees

Yep, today ski school was open because the temp reached a toasty zero degrees. Dexter had a session at ski school in the afternoon and we spent the morning together.

 Maya tearing it up!

Dexter is able to ski with us now!  Yay!

Lunch!

Yes, it's still very very cold.

Hanging out with Maya.

Back at the fort, having fun with Trigger.

Dexter with his pal.

Trigger loves any excuse to jump in the snow.

Yes, it's still cold.

Waiting for a table for our dinner.

Cold Skiing

We made it up to Bridger Bowl the next morning but were sad to discover it was too cold for ski lessons. We still had some fun.

Checking out the new and improved bunny hill. They just added this cool magic carpet and tunnel.

Dexter rocking it after a year without skiing.

It looks beautiful, but it's COLD!

Much needed hot cocoa.

Let's Get Cold

We decided to visit Bozeman again for our mid-winter break. It's been cold in San Rafael...around 50 degrees. Let's just say it would be a little colder where we were headed.

 Our chariot.

Bye bye San Francisco.

Drawing pictures for the pilots let to this fun moment.

Watch out!

Future pilot?

Welcome to Bozeman.

At least it's sunny!

Our hosts, Scott, Susie, and Katie (getting far too much love from her mom).

So happy to be here!
