Swinging Buddies

We got to have a nice visit with Julie, Natalie, and Noah at Golden Gate Park. Maya and Natalie made great swinging buddies.

"Hey! That's my friend Natalie."

"Did I mention that my friend, Natalie, is right there?"

Discovery!

Our mother's group met up at the Discovery Museum for some fun involving a lot climbing, splashing, and heavy breathing from parents as they scampered after their little ones. Julie and Sarah both brought their latest additions to the group, little Noah and Jonathan.

Colorado: Small Pleasures

The last couple days of our Colorado adventure were a lot of fun. The highlight was going to Tiny Town with Lulu and Pop. The miniature town with two kid sized trains was very exciting. We were sad to have to leave after 5 short days.

Cool dude.

Storytime with Lulu and Pop.

Colorado: Spooky

Maya goes into the light...AKA the garage entry into Lulu and Pop's house.

Insert scary music here.

Colorado: Swimming Pools and Rainbows

On Sunday, we had a wonderful day. Maria and Isabelle came to visit from Denver and we headed over to the Hiwan pool. Then in the afternoon, some of Mommy's high school friends came over to hang out with Maya and wish her a happy birthday. Maya was extra excited to see Dani and Dave's twin daughters, Adi and Mae (just a couple months younger than Maya).

Spectacular.

Even more spectacular.

Can't believe the next generation is already here.

Colorado: Welcome Back!

Maya hasn't been back to Lulu and Pop's house since she was 6 weeks old. We decided it was time for Maya to check out Evergreen, Colorado again. Maya was very excited about seeing her grandparents and thought Colorado was neat.

Lulu shows Maya some of her Mommy's favorite old toys.

Maya and Pop enjoy some snacks.

Maya rides on her momma's old rocking horse.

Mommy over 32 years ago on the same horse.

Pop has a cool remote control sailboat he sailed all around the pond by the house. On this day, he decided to name it the Maya.

Happiness.

After a tough day of sailing, Maya and the grandparents take a break.

Don't forget Rocky!

Benny Comes Up North

Our good friends Beth and Jenny (aka Benny), whose wedding we attended when Maya was 2 months old, made a quick visit to the bay area. They are expecting their first baby around Thankgiving this year. In honor of their visit, we pulled out the amazing baby pool.

Mommy makes blowing up baby pools look so sexy.

Beth is having a little too much fun with Maya's kitchen.

Maya likes tea parties and baby pools.

Too cold!

Nick's Party

Okay, this is the last part of Maya and Nick's birthday odyssey. On Sunday, Nick had a birthday party at his house. It was fun!

Oakland Zoo for Two

No birthday party for Maya this year. Instead, we decided to take a field trip that Maya would enjoy with her best buddy, Nick. Since Maya is quite the animal lover, we took Maya and Nick to the Oakland Zoo. It's a wonderful place and it gave Maya a chance to see her first real elephant. Hooray!
