Halloween is here!

All of halloween in one post...

Dexter dressed in his costume for trick or treating in San Rafael the weekend before Halloween. Spiderman likes to shop.

Decorations are happening.

Mom is impressed with the placement of her new spider.

Carving time!

Daddy tries to mimic the pumpkin from the movie Halloween.

Maya makes a pirate.

Mommy did this.

Pumpkins are ready. Check out Dexter's pumpkin that he carved on his own.

Maya decides to list all the costumes through the years.

School assembly on Halloween.

Kindergarten class in their outfits.

Time to trick or treat! Maya is dressed as a girl getting grabbed by an alien.

Let's get some candy.

Around the hood.

 Pirate house.

Scary man-baby.

Look! We found the devil!

Great decorations everywhere.

October Kids

Just some cute shots of the kiddos...

Maya doing some work with Dex.

Dexter loving the celery.

The beginnings of a set for Maya's play at school.  This will be the main building, hacked together using flats from other shows and some new construction. Next step, painting!

The Fires

Northern California has been hit by some devastating wildfires, destroying homes and burning nearly 250,000 acres. The skies over San Francisco were ashen and orange for days.

In San Francisco, the skies were eerie for days. For the first few days, little bits of ash fell from the sky like light snow flurries.

This was taken in the early afternoon.

Another early morning photo.

Meeting Half Way

We shared the pain and met the Kender Page almost exactly half way between our two houses at this  this house in Atascadero.

It was cute and red...

...and had a pool.

It was a bit cold for us to swim...

...but not for the kids.

We didn't leave the house.

Yes. There was a puzzle.

There was also a tennis court, where we played tennis...poorly.

On our way out, we went out for one meal. This is a fish taco. They live large in the middle of CA.

Well Dressed

Maya and Dexter like to be well dressed when doing the Mark Day fun run or just taking it easy.

Ready to run at the school race.

There was some serious running and a much less serious obstacle course where kids got to throw balls at our Head of School.

Maya knit this hat using a coffee can.  Fancy.
